●  Malaysian palm oil production is recovering in 2023, but it is unlikely to exceed 21.0 Mn T in coming years, unless the downtrend of yields is reversed.

●  Shortage of US supplies may curb world exports of cornglutenfeed to an 8-year low this season.

● We consider it likely that Argentine soybean crushings decline by 3-4 Mn T on the year in April/Aug 2023, assuming a crop of 26 Mn T and imports of 5-6 Mn T in this period.

● World rapeseed exports are seen rising by 4.3 Mn T to a record 19.3 Mn T in July/June 2022/23. EU rapeseed oil prices fell below palm oil this week, pressured by weakness in RME.

●  Russian exports of vegetable oils and oilmeals are increasing sharply this season, in line with expanding oilseed crushings.

●  Booming US demand has distorted global trade flows of tallow. US tallow usage is seen increasing by 0.7 Mn T in the two years to 2022/23, against a decline of 0.5 Mn T in the rest of the world.

● Indonesian palm oil exports increased by 3.1 Mn T in Oct/Jan 2022/23, resulting in massive reduction of stocks.

● Severe drought and heat causing additional damage and large acreage abandonment in Argentina. Increasing likelihood of soybean crop below 30 Mn T.

● Rising world demand and limited production growth will keep the global fish oil market strongly dependent on Peruvian supplies in coming years.

● Exports of soya meal from India are  seen more than doubling on the year to 1.1 Mn T in Oct/March 2022/23, triggered by shortage of Argentine supplies.

● EU imports of sunflowerseed increased by 2.0 Mn T to 2.4 Mn T in 2022. Large increases also in imports of sunflower oil & meal.

● World imports of copra meal increased by 23% to a 4-year high of 0.75 Mn T in Jan/Dec 2022, led by China.

● Severe decline in US tallow exports in 2022 offset only partly by sizeably larger shipments from other countries.
